We are pleased to announce the launch of Class Wing, starting, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, a free online school to train webtoon artists from Japan to succeed on the global stage. This project is a joint effort with Stella& Inc. (Headquarters: Seoul, South Korea; CEO: Kang Seoyeon; hereafter “Stella&”), which operates the global multimedia story platform “Toonyz.”

■Background of Class Wing’s Launch

In recent years, the global market for “webtoons”—vertically scrolling comics optimized for smartphones—has been rapidly expanding. Guided by our vision of “turning anyone in the world into a creator,” MediBang, which operates “MediBang Paint”, with over 100 million downloads worldwide, has long sought to provide a new platform for Japanese creators to unlock their high potential on a global scale.

To solve the challenge of limited opportunities in Japan for learning webtoon-specific creation, their editing techniques, and for breaking into the global market, we’ve partnered with Stella&, a global content tech company from the home of webtoons, Korea. Class Wing was founded as a place to give Japanese creators the “wings” to soar globally by systematically learning top-level skills from Korean instructors.

Three Features of the Webtoon Artist Training Project, “Class Wing”

1. Instructors from the Home of Webtoons, Korea
The instructors at Class Wing are current professors teaching at leading universities in Korea, the forefront of webtoon education. Students can systematically learn world-class skills, from basics to advanced practices, directly from the source. This includes character design, story structure, and vertical scroll techniques that captivate readers.

2. From “Understanding” to “Drawing”
The program is practice-oriented to transform “understanding” into “drawing.” By repeatedly creating assignments with professional feedback, students will solidify their knowledge into a tangible skill. Our goal is to help artists grow from “just drawing” to effectively conveying what they want to the reader.

3. Powerful Support from MediBang x Toonyz
By combining MediBang Paint’s creator base (100 million+ downloads) with Toonyz’s authentic production expertise, we provide powerful support for our students’ creative activities. Creators who pass the selection process within this project will receive support from a dedicated producer to work toward their debut as a global webtoon artist.
